Robert was a high school husband and father. He spent his senior year married and during his senior year, he and his wife had a daughter and bought a 4 bedroom house. Working the night shift at a flooring factory six days a week for income, Robert starting using words and music as his outlet. Something he kept to himself.
After the fall of his marriage he moved to Dallas, TX from Lawton, OK and got an art degree. Still his passion laid in words and he secretly kept writing.
He eventually starting putting words and songs together and putting them out there. He formed a band that would last about a year, called “Deep Rest”. He later formed a group of songwriters and musician, called “ZTNB”. An acronym for an inside joke standing for, “Zero to None Bunch” meaning they had a zero to none chance of doing it, because all the people involved were habitual procrastinators. That project lasted almost five years and grew into something bigger than they ever imaged.
With his daughter grown and out on her own, Robert decided to move to Austin and pursue music and words more heavily, releasing an EP and a full-length album in 2010.
He is currently playing heavily in Austin as well as some touring. He has shared shows with Steve Poltz, Sam Baker, Cory Branan, Storyhill, Danny Schmidt, Carrie Elkin, Matt the Electrician, Band of Heathens, Graham Weber, Southpaw Jones, Johann Wagner, Dana Falconberry, Paper Bird, Raina Rose, Matt Bauer, Magic Leaves, some say Leland, Spirits of the Red City, The Dovekins & Dayna Kurtz to name a few.
Robert has a way of weaving his lyrics into an intricate blanket that will send you traveling through his life experiences, feeling his pulse every step of the way. When he takes the stage, be prepared for a beautiful ride through the whole spectrum of laughter to tears. He is truly an incredible and powerful performer to see.

The Calm Waters of Youth, my first full length record! To be released in August
of 2010!

I recorded a handful of songs with my friend Dan Edwards in 2009 the day
before he was forced to head back to
Brighton due to his visa expiring.

Some Say Leland field recordings
volume I: The Abandoned State School.
We recorded this project by candle light. It truly captures this band and this room.

I recorded a field recording project on the Annie Street Arts Collective label. It consists of amazing artists I have encountered, mainly in Austin, but some from other cities as well. There is some serious magic on this record. We will be
releasing it in Sept. of 2010.

In July of 2010 we recorded a Country
Willie album. Country Willie is an amazing
songwriter and a true one-of-a-kind.
Look for it to be released in the fall of
2010.

In 2009 I produced the debut CD of Austin's incredible band, The Electric Rotten Apple Mountain Gang. A unique blend of bluegrass and thrash. Check 'em out!

Ron Scott is an underground legend in
Austin. This is a collection of his songs covered by other singer/songwriters. The project was headed up by Johann Wagner. I recorded 3 tracks on this
record in 2010.

Most everything I do online is on this
site, but of course you can always
find me at the following places.
My youtube channel is pretty rad.
