Some Say Leland Field recordings record

Here's a couple of tracks from the session.
On this record there are 6 tracks.

This was recorded in an abandoned state school at night, by candle light with one mic placement.

The reverb in that room is epic.

The trombone is actually being played in another room. of the building.

Down The River

Collecting Myself Book Vol 2.
This is a book of lyrics, along with a story. I published it in 2003. It contains a 10 page story, 50 lyric pieces and photos that pertain to the lyric piece in some way when possible.
I literally spent a lot of blood, sweat and tears on this book. So much so it's hard for me to crack it open after all these years. It's about as raw as it gets and although I appreciate rawness, it's a double-edge sword when you're the one dishing it out. Time is not kind to honesty. Well at least not in this particular case.

Ron Scott songwriter from Austin, TX
A collection of Ron Scott songs covered by many great artist nationwide. Ron is one of those songwriters that when playing a show most of his set is sing-a-long. His songs are timeless.
This project was headed up by Johann Wagner and was given to Ron as a gift when all completed.
There are many great versions of his songs on here. I recorded Dan Grissom, Kendra Kinsey and Lindsey Verrill covering three of his songs.

These are not songs I recorded (well not these particular recordings of them anyway). These are songs of friends of song who have allowed me to share their tracks with you. If you enjoy them, visit their sites, see their shows and buy their merch if you are so moved to do so.
Southpaw Jones Raina Rose
Southpaw Jones is an Austin legend.
He's a true one-of-a-kind. If you ever get
the chance to see him you should absolutely do so. One of my favoite things to do in Austin is watch someone watching
Southpaw for the first time. It gives me a lot of joy.

This is a song off his "Cruelty" album. It shows off his clever wit, his knack for telling a story and his originality.

Legitimate Film
Raina is a true work horse of of the folk
industry. She does over 200 shows a year nationwide as well as beyond this year. Her talents as a songwriter have grown immensely over the last couple of years and I believe she is one of the finest lyric and songwriters available to us today.

This is a song off her newest album, entitled "When May Came". My personal favorite off this album.

The Calm Waters of Youth

I recorded a handful of songs with my friend Dan Edwards in 2009 the day
before he was forced to head back to
Brighton due to his visa expiring.

We recorded this project by candle light. It truly captures this band and this room.
Some Say Leland

I recorded a field recording project on the Annie Street Arts Collective label. It consists of amazing artists I have encountered, mainly in Austin, but some from other cities as well. There is some serious magic on this record. We will be
releasing it in Sept. of 2010.

In July of 2010 we recorded a Country

songwriter and a true one-of-a-kind.
Look for it to be released in the fall of
2010.

In 2009 I produced the debut CD of Austin's incredible band, The Electric Rotten Apple Mountain Gang. A unique blend of bluegrass and thrash. Check 'em out!
